<lj:music>Tori Amos - Hey Jupiter (The Dakota Version)</lj:music>

Another new journal. It's been a while, but things aren't the same over there, and it was needed. I don't even know what the other is for. Is it for me? When I read the past entries, it doesn't really sound like me. I don't seem to much like the things I wrote. Is it for other people? That just makes me laugh because I don't particularly think anyone eagerly awaits any new entries from me. It isn't a bad thing.

I worked some more on the White Lady, but I'm not feeling as inspired by her as I was a few days ago. Some creature I believe to be Melusine has wandered into my vision and into my sketchbook. A fully fledged sketch, almost entirely ready for painting, just came out without me really having to think much about it. I need a bigger canvas for her though. They're both vying for my attention in their own way. The White Lady has told me her story and wants to be heard, whilst Melusine is proving to be more elusive, looking at me over her shoulder, beckoning. Yet she gives nothing away. Her gaze is enough, such is the pull of the fae.

Both are water related in some way, whereas the earth element seems to be my usual fare. Even the styles I had been contemplating have a fluid quality about them. Even the songs I have been listening to (Pandora's Aquarium) use the water connection. I am unsure of how it relates to me though. I remember something I was told about the significance of water in dreams. I'm not sure just how much credence I give to that, as I think dreams are highly personal with their own symbolism unique to the individual. Still, given what he said, it would make sense with my current feelings and the things I have been mulling over.

I'd love to do a painting of Cupid and Psyche, but I don't have confidence in my anatomy skills (especially the male) to do it justice yet. I can't find any suitable reference photos either, so the idea will have to go to the side for now. The deer boy is still following me around, but a little more quietly right now. I am thinking he is a protective spirit. As a side note, in Hittite mythology the stag is seen as a protective deity.

I think that's enough for a first entry. I want some egg. Mmm.
